FAQ

The most common questions we get, answered clearly. Covers compatibility, water pressure, filter types, and how the Cyclone compares to nozzle-only cleaners.

Does it work with cartridge AND DE filters?

Yes. The Cyclone works with both cartridge and DE filters. For DE filters, you'll want to disassemble the grids first before cleaning.

What water pressure do I need?

The Cyclone works best between 40–80 PSI — which is standard household water pressure. No pump or booster needed.

How often should I clean my filter?

We recommend cleaning every 2–4 weeks during pool season, or whenever your filter pressure gauge reads 8–10 PSI above your clean baseline.

Can I use it with well water?

Yes, though well water with high mineral content may leave deposits on the filter. A filter soak in a cleaning solution is recommended seasonally in that case.

Will it damage my filter?

No. The spinning action and fan-tip nozzle are designed to clean between pleats without tearing or warping the filter media when used as directed.

Does it fit 3", 4", and 6" filters?

Yes — the Deluxe includes grip collars for all three standard sizes. Additional adapter rings are available in our parts store.

How is this different from a Filter Flosser?

Unlike wand-style cleaners, the Cyclone spins the filter automatically while you clean — so you don't have to manually spread every pleat. It's faster, more thorough, and easier on your back.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes. Every Cyclone Filter Cleaner comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty and a 90-day risk-free return policy.
